The "Koninklijke Nederlandse Baseball en Softball Bond" (KNBSB), or the Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association, is the governing body for baseball and softball in the Netherlands. It is responsible for organizing and promoting both sports within the country, overseeing league play, national teams, and international competitions. The KNBSB also plays a crucial role in developing young talent and fostering a strong baseball and softball culture in the Netherlands.
ASC Hilversum Hurricanes have a long history, dating back to 1923. The club was founded as a baseball club, and later added softball and American football to its offerings. In its early years, the club was affiliated with several other sports clubs in Hilversum. In 1975, the baseball and softball clubs merged to form the Base- en Softball Club Hilversum (BSCH). In 1990, the BSCH merged with the American football club ASC Hilversum Hurricanes. The club has been based at its current location since 1984.
